Terminal 1 was designed by Jean-Marie Massaud for B&B Italia in 2008. Terminal 1 is a combination of a chaise long and an armchair, resulting in a modern and sculptural piece of furniture. The seat is made of hard polyurethane and covered with flexible Bayfit foam, covered in Gamma leather. The outer shell is painted with a glossy finish and is available in different colors. The seat rests on a stable steel base with a matt painted surface in the same color as the shell. The experimental design mixes matte and glossy surfaces as well as hard and soft shapes, challenging the classic lounge chair. The raised back works as a backrest and means that the recliner can also be used as a bench or armchair.
