Akari 3AD is a table lamp from Vitra designed by the Japanese-American sculptor and architect Isamu Noguchi in 1951 as part of the Akari lamp series. The Akari lamp series consists of lamps handmade from shoji paper, paper made from the bark of mulberry trees. Akari 3AD is designed in white patterned shoji paper with a steel frame surrounded by bamboo wood. The lamp is held up by three black lacquered steel legs.
All light sculptures in the Akari series are marked with a logo representing the sun and the moon, which confirms the authenticity of each product.
