LK Hjelle armchairs & poufs

LK Hjelle, with roots in 1940s Norway, is a design brand with a long history of courage and craftsmanship. Founded by Lars Karl Hjelle along with his two brothers-in-law Arne Welle and Petter Furseth in Sykkylven, this family-run business began by engaging people around the local farms to create more jobs in the village. Initially, the workers began making chairs and divans in barns and basements alongside the farm activities, but by 1947 a large production facility was built in the industrial area at Vikøyra.

From local furniture manufacturer to an international player in Scandinavian furniture design

Today LK Hjelle stands for timeless Scandinavian design, quality and comfort. The brand is run by Dag Hjelle, the third generation after Lars Karl, and thanks to successful collaborations with both Norwegian and international designers, the brand offers innovative furniture design that has won several international awards. Although LK Hjelle constantly strives to create modern design, the furniture is still manufactured in the factory in Sykkylven and is an important part of the brand's heritage. LK Hjelle is more than quality furniture; it is a story of a Scandinavian heritage preserved through generations by a family driven by passion and pride.
