Nelson Saucer Bubble is the popular teapot-like hanging lamp from Herman Miller, designed by George Nelson for the Nelson Bubble collection. The lamp is available in small, medium, and large sizes and is great for hanging together in groups. However, the rest of the collection shares the same material and motif, so you can also combine the Nelson Saucer Bubble with various shapes and sizes from the other models. Just Saucer is also available as a wall lamp and the CrissCross model.

The idea behind the lamp series came when George Nelson was looking for a new lamp for his office and came across a classic Swedish hanging lamp. He then wanted to develop his own interpretation, but the manufacturing process proved far too complicated and costly ever to reach a wider market. Then, flipping through the paper one morning, he saw pictures of the military covering entire ships with a protective fabric, and the very next day he had produced a prototype of what has now become the Nelson Bubble.
