Dédal Shelf is a wall shelf designed by Mathieu Matégot in 1955 and now produced by Gubi. The shelf has a geometric shape, consisting of two rectangles joined to provide two flat surfaces on which to place, for example, books or ornaments. Dédal Shelf can be assembled both lengthwise and widthwise and is available in a variety of colors that can be combined in groups. Several shelves can be put together to form larger patterns in the same or different colors. The shelf is made of Rigitulle, a material and technique invented by Matégot himself, where perforated metal sheet is combined with metal tubes. The material has the same properties as fabric and can be bent, folded, and shaped, giving the furniture a sense of weightlessness and timeless modernity.
