Emu was established in 1951 in Umbria, Italy. The company, with its strong Italian roots and focus on technology, has managed to develop several collections of that have made it an industry leader in this segment. All of the company’s products have a classic design expressed in harmony with clear shapes and a product identity forged in steel and aluminum.
The elegant Rio chair is the company’s most popular product, and 8 million of it have sold worldwide since the launch. The company is internationally recognized for its classic design and attention to detail in the choice of materials and styling.
Italian outdoor furniture of the highest quality
For years, the company has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned designers such as Arik Levy, Christophe Pillet, Paola Navone, Patricia Urquiola, Jean-Marie Massaud, and Stefan Diez. In the process, designers have been able to share and exchange experiences and ideas in order to best interpret and anticipate trends, which has helped EMU to increase its distribution and establish its position in the market. By employing the most advanced technologies in the production process without sacrificing attention to detail, and by combining this with clean lines and shapes, EMU has been able to create products that are sought-after worldwide.
All phases and stages of production are controlled and managed by EMU in its own factory in the town of Marsciano, located in the heart of the Umbria region. The 100,000-square-meter factory employs more than 150 people who serve the company’s customers with more than 400,000 top-quality products every year. EMU has more than 1,000 sales representatives in 85 countries, operating in both the corporate and private sectors. One of the company’s strengths and a major part of its winning strategy is that, despite a low turnover, it has chosen to keep production in Italy. Today, as a result, EMU has become a byword for the expression “Made In Italy”.
