The elegant CH53 footstool was designed in 1966 by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn. Originally created as a complement to the CH44 armchair, these models still harmonize well when grouped together, especially if you choose the lower stool at 39 centimeters. Since then, the brand has expanded its offerings with an additional height of 43 centimeters, ideal for use as an extra seat, for instance, at the dining table when unexpected guests arrive.
Here, you can select your CH53 in solid oak with a black-lacquered, soaped, oiled, or white-oiled finish. Note that the black-lacquered version features a distinct wood grain and a glossy finish. For less wood grain and a more matte finish, you can opt for the solid beech stool. This variant is adorned with a woven seat of paper cord in a natural color.
