In 1949, Hans J. Wegner and Carl Hansen & Søn initiated their decades-long collaboration. The following year, they launched the now well-known CH25 armchair along with one of Danish design's greatest icons – the CH24 Wishbone Chair. It was also here that Wegner gained much attention for his choice of material for the woven seat. He replaced the previously popular seagrass with a waxed paper cord. This particular version of the classic armchair comes in solid oak with black paper cord.

Both the designer and the brand are now synonymous with high quality and meticulous craftsmanship. Just the seat and back for the CH25 armchair require nearly 400 meters of cord, a task that takes one of their most experienced craftsmen about 10 hours to complete.
