CH23 is a chair designed in 1950 by Hans J. Wegner and manufactured by Carl Hansen & Sun. Manufactured from solid oak or walnut, alternatively a combination of both with a molded veneer back. Several surface treatments are available to choose from. Seat made of paper cord in either natural or black braid.
The CH23 is an early example of Wegner's unique style and skilled craftsmanship. The chair includes a number of well-known design details, including the double-woven paper string seat. Wegner was an expert at making complex designs look simple and the CH23 is no exception, despite a wealth of unique details the chair still looks simple and light. Use with advantage around the dinner table.
