57.3 is a ceiling lamp from Bocci designed by Omer Arbel in 2013. The lamp has three pendants meant to be suspended in a random configuration; the height is adjustable to a maximum of 300 cm. The irregular shape of the lightbulb comes from a manufacturing process in which air spaces of different sizes are filled into a larger glass mass and take the shape of a rain cloud. The thick glass makes the air pockets invisible when the lamp is switched off but when lit its interior expands into its own little universe. Each lightbulb measures approximately 10-16,5 cm in diameter and is made by hand so that each one is unique in proportion, size, and shape. The 57.3 is horizontal, so the pendants are suspended from the ceiling with a thin metal cable. For example, they can be placed around a corner or at different heights to create the illusion of suspended gravity. The lamp comes with a round ceiling mount in brass.
