Steel Lab Light Floor is a floor lamp from Karakter, designed by the South African design agency Anatomy Design in 2010. In this version, the floor lamp has a base, shade and rotating arm entirely made of lacquered aluminium. In addition to Steel Lab Light Floor, the same series also includes a floor lamp and a table lamp with a brass shade and porcelain base.

Andrea Kleinloog of Anatomy Design was inspired by her parents' pharmaceutical work and their old laboratory equipment when she and her design agency created the Lab series. It is therefore no coincidence that materials such as porcelain, steel and brass were used to produce the fixtures as these materials are often found in classic pharmacy and hospital environments.
