Eames Elephant was designed in 1945 by Charles & Ray Eames. The toy elephant was originally made of plywood but never went into production. Now the elephant is available to buy in polypropylene in several playful, matt colors. The Elephant is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.During the 1940s, the Eames couple developed techniques for molding plywood into three-dimensional shapes to produce a range of furniture and furnishings, one of which was the Eames Elephant. The first prototype of the elephant was given to their daughter Lucia Eames and this example was later loaned to the Museum of Modern Art in New York to be included in their 1946 exhibition. This specimen of the elephant remains in the Eames family. The plywood elephant was released as a limited edition in 2007 but later became part of the Vitra range. The plastic version was launched later and is designed to be used as an elegant toy for your child or as a stylish interior decoration and is guaranteed to bring joy to both adults and children.
