The Satake Ame – Gyuto is a Western chef's knife with a classic long design, ideal for a variety of kitchen tasks. The knife has a high profile at the heel and tapers towards the tip, which is typical of Gyuto models. It cuts, chops and slices with precision and serves as an excellent all-round knife. The high profile at the heel prevents the knuckles from hitting the cutting board. The handle is made of Vril from larch, peach tree, camphor and maple, which makes each handle unique (see picture). The blade is 21 cm long, hand-hammered from 5 layers of AUS10 steel with a hardness of 60-61 HRC, and the knife has both bolster and end piece in stainless steel.
