J110 Chair is a chair from the Danish brand HAY designed by Paul Volther. It is made of solid beech and can be chosen in either a natural finish or in Dusty Gray, Beige Gray, Stone Gray, Raspberry, Black, White, Gray, and Coral. With the comfort of a lounge chair and the functionality of a dining chair, HAY has here reproduced Paul Volther's J110 with the same focus on esthetics and usability. The long rods at the back and the curved armrest offer a welcoming look.
Paul Volther is a Danish designer and educator who is responsible for several notable mid-century furniture pieces, including armchairs, chairs, and sofas. He trained as a cabinet maker and furniture designer at The Arts and Crafts School in Copenhagen, where he was an important proponent of functionalism. He specifically focused on using craft techniques on fine quality materials. Paul Volther also worked as a designer at FDB Furniture and later became Head Of Design at the company.
