Basket Lounge Chair is an armchair designed by Joe Colombo in 1967 and produced by the Danish brand Gubi. The Basket collection was designed to honour the classic hand-weaving technique used for rattan basketry, among other things. The collection consists of an armchair, a two-seater sofa and a three-seater sofa, all of which share the same construction and design language. However, the original fibreglass frame has been replaced by a more environmentally friendly steel frame that adds strength and stability to the unique shape. The base of the armchair is made of hand-woven rattan, a technique that requires great skill and is a solid craftsmanship. For optimum comfort, the armchair also has a well-upholstered seat and back cushion and armrests. Choose from a range of attractive colors.
