Fritz Hansen's iconic Orient lamp was designed in 1963 by Jo Hammerborg for Fog Mørup and re-launched in 2013 by Fritz Hansen in collaboration with the Hammerborg family. Orient is made of clear lacquered copper and has a conical top of rosewood. The lampshade has several narrow gaps that allow streaks of light to seep out. The shape of the shade hides the lightbulb and prevents glare. The naturally dark veining of the rosewood provides an attractive transition to a black fabric-covered cord. Comes with black ceiling cap.
Orient is created from exclusive materials, the combination of the rounded shape of the shade and the warm copper tone gives a warm and pleasant glow that looks good in many rooms. Orient has become a true design classic over the years and is equally suitable for hanging alone or in group settings. Orient Black is the modern version of the classic design and is made from aluminum, with a matte black lacquered finish which contrasts beautifully with the warm rosewood. Both versions are available in several sizes.
