The Penguin Lounge Chair is an elegant, lightweight chair designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen for the Danish brand Audo Copenhagen. Ib Kofod-Larsen designed The Penguin Dining Chair back in 1953 and it has become a Danish design classic thanks to its elegant and sculptural design. The relaunch of the iconic dining chair in 2022 will also see the launch of The Penguin Lounge Chair and a rocking chair, The Penguin Rocking Chair. Choose from solid walnut or oak and with or without a cloth or leather seat.
Ib Kofod-Larsen designed the chair with high comfort in mind; the slightly angled chair back supports the body. The chair has a wide, deep seat in wood and a narrower base in black steel that creates an interesting contrast. As the name suggests, the design is inspired by the silhouette of a penguin, creating a playful chair that combines clean lines and solid craftsmanship. The Penguin Lounge Chair has a graphic purity that allows it to interact with other furniture in the home.
