Transparent Sound speakers & sound systems

Transparent Sound was established in Stockholm in 2011 by four friends. The idea was to show an alternative to all the complicated technology gadgets and to create a product that was as much an interior design object as it was a technology object. High quality permeates the product and the design philosophy, and the design concept is rooted in Scandinavian functionalism.

As a result of a blog post that went viral, Transparent Speaker comes to be appreciated all over the world for its stylish design and sound quality. A number of collaborations with skilled craftsmen from Sweden and France began in 2018. The project continued to explore the extent to which an advanced technology product can also be a contemporary design object.

Classic audio

For a while, Transparent Sound operated as a side project to the People People design studio. Between 2013 and 2017, the speaker was shown in a variety of exciting contexts. Famous artists such as Britney Spears, Snoop Dogg, and Robyn used the speakers in their music videos; it appeared at MoMA in NYC and was part of an exhibition on glass design in Bremen. After this great success, founders Per Brickstad and Martin Willers decided to devote their full attention to their loudspeaker business. The project went beyond investigating which models to launch in the future; Transparent Sound also wanted to reveal the link between technology and design, and the circular properties of a brand’s products.

Transparent Sound offers an alternative to the otherwise sometimes complicated market. As technology advances, the product can be upgraded. Already, Transparent Speaker has been upgraded to come with Bluetooth, and, for those who prefer, the speakers can be upgraded both with voice control and to multi-room systems. Transparent Sound seeks to offer speakers that don’t distort the sound, but are designed for a clean, honest, and understandable response. The speakers have been carefully crafted for the best sound, and are inspired by a simple, elegant design with contemporary lines, materials, and textures. Stripped of all unnecessary frills, the most important thing - the music - takes center stage.
