Crown Armchair is a product from Massproductions designed by the company's co-founder and chief designer Chris Martin. The modern chair has a playful design consisting of four elements. The elements appear to be stacked on top of each other, but are actually assembled with a hidden, strong metal construction. The Crown Armchair has a wood and metal frame and the entire chair is upholstered in a variety of fabrics or leather in a variety of finishes.
When Chris Martin designed the Crown Armchair, he wanted to streamline the process of producing an upholstered furniture. This was made possible by producing the chair from only four shallow panels, which made the whole manufacturing process more cost-effective. The name Crown came about during the assembly of the chair when the backrest was fitted like a crown at a bend, as the factory noted.
