Luceplan
In 1978, the Italian company Luceplan begins to develop into a successful lighting manufacturer. The company is founded by Riccardo Sarfatti, Paolo Rizzatto and Sandra Severi in a successful collaboration with Gino Sarfatti, already a pioneer in lighting design.
Luceplan’s history is marked by design experimentation, research, and with the philosophy of creating beautiful products for a large audience. Luceplan believes that light is an absolute must, and all products are designed according to three factors: experience, research, and innovation. Entrepreneurship and passion for design constantly drive the brand forward.
Italian lighting design with a worldwide reputation
Durability and energy-saving are the cornerstones of the company, and everything is produced with a focus on material selection to make the luminaires last as long as possible. Light quality is important, and only energy-saving lamps are used. Luceplan creates lighting for the future, both for private homes and public spaces. Durability runs through the entire production process, combining function and design.
One of Luceplan’s most successful and popular luminaires is the Mesh ceiling pendant, designed by Francisco Gomez Paz. Mesh is found in homes around the world and, thanks to its unique design where the lighting points are located at the junctions of the wires, is a modern and unique lamp that meets Gomez’s requirements for not too much light, and not too little.
Another great favorite is Daniel Rybakken’s Stochastic. A modern chandelier, assembled from a number of glass globes in either a metallic or frosted finish. Rybakken’s idea was to create a golden chandelier, to evoke a sense of mystery. He creates a chandelier from a simple repeated element and the name represents the random placement of the glass balls. Today, Luceplan has three flagship stores, in Milan, New York, and Paris.
