In 1953 Finn Juhl designed the Reading Chair - Veneer seat, a simple yet elegant dining chair. Originally designed for the Danish company Bovirke, it has been in production by House of Finn Juhl since 2015. Reading Chair - Veneer seat is made of oak with a walnut backrest. Previously only available with an upholstered seat, the chair is now being re-launched with a veneered walnut seat just like the first version of the Reading Chair designed by Finn Juhl for Bovirke. Of course, you can also find the upholstered version in either fabric or leather at Nordiska Galleriet.
Finn Juhl designed the Reading Chair - veneered seat both as a dining chair and as a reading chair. The idea was that it would be equally comfortable no matter which way you sat on it. The idea may seem a little odd, but the result was a simple, unpretentious chair that also feels well-designed and visually appealing. The Reading Chair - Veneer seat is perfect for both private and public environments such as homes, hotels, restaurants, and conference centers.
