The Grand Prix Aspen Limited Edition was launched on October 21, 2022 at 10.00.
The Grand Prix Aspen Limited Edition chair has been developed in a collaboration between NO GA and the Danish brand Fritz Hansen. This interpretation of the design classic has been made with a cowhide front made on Fritz Hansen's Wild Hide, an aniline leather with a natural finish and cow hair. Just as each animal has a unique pattern, each chair has been given its own expression, something that the animal's hair variation has also contributed to. The Grand Prix has beautiful legs in solid walnut wood and shell of pressed walnut veneer. Grand Prix Aspen Limited Edition is sold exclusively at Nordiska Galleriet and comes in a numbered limited edition of 110 copies.
The 4130 Grand Prix chair from Fritz Hansen was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957 and launched the same year at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen during the Designers Spring Exhibition. Later that year, the chair was exhibited at the Triennale in Milan, where it won the Grand Prix for the most outstanding work of the show. Since then, the chair has gone under the same name and been launched in several designs.
Like Arne Jacobsen's Myran and Seven, the Grand Prix is also made of pressed veneer. Each chair's shell is created in one piece, consisting of nine layers of veneer and two layers of Indian cotton pressed into shape over steam. This gives the chair a comfortable flexibility. The backrest can also be folded down, which contributes to the high level of comfort.
