Fritz Hansen's popular chair, the Series 7 was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952. The chair was originally designed with an armrest, as in this design, 3207 Series 7, which is the reason for the shape of the shell. The Series 7 is manufactured using the same innovative process as its predecessor, the Ant. The seat is created in one piece, consisting of nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton that have been compression molded. This provides a flexible back that can be flexed, contributing to the chair's elevated level of comfort. In this model, the armchair comes with full upholstery in fabric or leather. A wide variety of upholstery colors is available. The legs are made of chrome-plated steel.
The Series 7 has become Fritz Hansen's most popular chair of all time and has been launched in a variety of designs. Nordiska Galleriet was the first distributor of Series 7 in Sweden, and the chair is currently the most popular furniture. Its popularity speaks volumes about its iconic status, with the form, function, and modern design history of the Series 7 making it a classic and a firm favorite with us.
