Luna Piena is part of the Luci d'Oro series from Catellani & Smith and is available as both a ceiling lamp and a wall lamp. Luci d'Oro was created by Enzo Catellani with inspiration from the sun and the warmth and color scale of fire and was presented in 2000 in Tribeca, New York. Luna Piena consists of a circular plate in aluminum that is coated with shiny leaves of gold, silver or copper. A flexible metal arm directed towards the plate holds a dimmable LED lamp. The metal reflects the light from the lamp, which is meant to recreate the light from the sun and the golden light of the fire that Catellani had in mind when he designed the lamp. Based on the lamp's name Luna, which means moon, you can immediately guess that the silver version reflects the cold light of the moon.
