21.21 is a pendant light from Bocci designed by Omer Arbel in 2007. The lamp has 21 pendants meant to be suspended in a random configuration; the height is adjustable to a maximum of 300 cm. Inspired by the scattered arrangement of barnacles on a sea cliff, the shade is made of thin porcelain wrapped around a borosilicate glass in a trumpet shape. A strong contrast is created between the organic soft light passing through the porcelain and the sharp light passing through the glass. Each shade measures approximately 13 cm in diameter and is handcrafted, making each one unique in proportion, size, and shape. 21.21 is easily mounted with a jack that plugs into the ceiling fixture. The rectangular frame is made of white lacquered metal. The cables come standard with a maximum length of 300 cm and are pre-adjusted during production, so they cannot be adjusted afterwards.
