Serie Up 2000 is a series of seating designed by Gaetano Pesce for B&B Italia. UP 5_6 is an armchair shaped after a woman's body. According to Pesce, the round footrest, which resembles a boja, symbolizes the woman's captivity, and he claimed that the woman has always been involuntarily imprisoned by herself. UP 5_6 is constructed from flexible cold-pressed Bayfit foam and comes fully upholstered in a choice of fabrics. The bottom is upholstered in 100% jute fabric. The armchair has also been nicknamed Big Mama.

Thanks to their shapes, the seating in the series becomes an artistic addition to the interior. Thanks to its unique shape, UP 5_6 is best suited to a spacious room. Thanks to the UP 5_6 armchair, the Up 2000 series has achieved iconic status and is still as interesting today as when it was first introduced in the late 1960s.

In 2019, B&B Italia is presenting two new variants from the popular original design, with navy blue striped with footstool in the same fabric or solid color.
