Cosmic Angel is a ceiling lamp with a patterned and unevenly shaped body made of thermoplastic. The suspended reflectors, which are cast in aluminium, together with the light source, create an indirect light in an exciting pattern. Cosmic Angel was designed for Artemide in 2009 by Ross Lovegrove and his ambition was to recreate and freeze a moment where air and gravity play their role and create a sculptural flow. Ross Lovegrove himself has described that this lamp is like the cosmos in that with its complex shapes it creates a sense of infinity. Cosmic Angel's uneven shape creates unique shadows and with its stately size, it becomes an eye-catching detail even when it is switched off.
