Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Ronan og Erwan Bouroullec er to franske designerbrands, der samarbejder og anses for at være to af de vigtigste designere i dag. På trods af deres unge alder har de allerede samarbejdet med store mærker som Vitra, Cappellini, Kartell og Magis om at skabe alt fra vægdekorationer til møbler og interiør.

Deres designs är ofte hö En af dem er vægdekorationen eller rumdeleren Algues (Alger) for Vitra, som er en stor vinder på Nordiska Galleriet.

Ronan og Erwan blev født i henholdsvis 1971 og 1976 i Quimper. Umiddelbart efter at have taget sin eksamen fra École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs i Paris startede Ronan sit eget designstudie, hvor hans yngre bror, som stadig studerede, hjalp ham. I dag har de et fælles studie i Paris, hvor de driver deres designstudio med et team på seks personer. De har arbejdet sammen i femten år, og deres ambitiøse design er drevet af en interesse for hinandens forskellige personligheder.

ÅI 1997 fik brødrene deres første professionelle bestilling fra designmærket Capellini. I 2000 arbejdede de sammen med Galerie Kreo, hvor de et år senere havde deres første soloudstilling.

Brødrene Bouroullec har en bred vifte af designs og skaber alt fra små designobjekter som smykker til storskala arkitektur og kunsthåndværk i form af video og fotografi. De samarbejder ofte med Galerie Kreo om at udvikle deres eksperimentelle design. De fleste af Ronan og Erwans værker er en del af de permanente udstillinger på flere moderne museer rundt om i verden, herunder Museum of Modern Art i New York, Art Institute of Chicago og Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Pompidou.

De har modtaget adskillige prestigefyldte priser og udmærkelser, herunder "Creator of the Right" på Salon du Meuble i Paris i 2002, "New Designer Awards" på International Furniture Fair i New York i 1999 og Grand Prix du Design de la Ville de Paris i 1998.
