Lampe de Bureau was designed in 1930 by Jean Prouvé and produced by Vitra. The pretty table lamp was designed specifically for the Cité Universitaire in the French city of Nancy. Lampe de Bureau is made of metal and comes in the colors Prouvé Bleu Marcoule and Prouvé Blanc Colombe. The light of the lamp is a warm white light that creates a cozy atmosphere. Jean Prouvé was born in 1901 in Paris and is one of the most influential designers and architects of the 20th century. Prouvé is considered to have been an advocate of the modernist design movement and began his career by being apprenticed to various blacksmiths and metal furniture makers. Today, Vitra produces a number of Prouvé's popular pieces of furniture. These are considered timeless design icons and are as popular today as when they were designed.
