Akari 9AD is a table lamp designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1951 as part of his Akari light sculptures for the Vitra brand. Akari 9AD, like all lamps in the Akari range, is handmade by Japanese craftsmen in shoji paper. Shoji paper is a Japanese paper that comes from the bark of the mulberry tree. The paper structure is in turn embraced by bamboo wood and supported by black lacquered steel legs. Akari 9AD is also perfect for use as a floor lamp. All light sculptures in the Akari range are embellished with a logo representing the sun and moon, reinforcing the authenticity of each product.
