The Bauhaus Floor Lamp BST 23 was designed in 1923 by Gyula Pap while he was studying at the Bauhaus school. It is now produced by Tecnolumen who specialize in lamps from this era. The lamp has a modern and timeless design with an exposed bulb and a mirrored, round disc underneath that makes the light source appear dark. The frosted glass lets in a soft glow that creates atmosphere in the room. The rod consists of a chrome-plated metal tube that is attached to the black-lacquered iron base.
The original Bauhaus Floor Lamp BST 23 was included in Bauhaus book no.7 as an example of functional design. It was also exhibited at an exhibition called "Am Horn" but has since disappeared. Tecnolumen has recreated the lamp based on photos and detailed drawings by Gyula Pap.
