Minos wall clock by Raawii is the result of a collaboration between designer Manon Novelli and students from the Swiss design school ECAL. The clock’s design captures the theme of light and shadow in a ceramic relief that continuously changes depending on the surrounding light. Inspired by ancient sundials and natural patterns, the relief’s labyrinth-like surface gave the clock its name—a tribute to King Minos’ mythological labyrinth, where the clock symbolically contains time. The ceramic clock face consists of concentric circles with four openings per circle, creating a rhythmic structure. The hands are designed to cast shadows on the relief, making these shadows more prominent than the hands themselves. Minos wall clock is best placed near a window, where changes in daylight highlight its dynamic design and invite contemplation in a busy world. The clock is powered by a 1.5V AA battery (not included).
