The Coupé 2202 table lamp and the other lamps in the Coupé range by Oluce were designed in 1967 by Joe Colombo as a complement to the Spider collection from the same company. The lamp has a similar base and frame to the lamps in the Spider range, also designed by Joe Colombo. What really sets them apart is the cylindrical shade of the Coupé 2202 made of lacquered aluminum. Choose between a black or white finish. The lamp has a clever design that makes it possible to direct the light different ways by moving the shade up, down and sideways.
The 2202 Coupé is part of the Coupé lighting range, which also includes floor and wall lamps. In 1968, the lamps were awarded the International Design Award by the American Institute of Interior Designers. The lamps are also part of the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York and the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich.
