Tropcalia Armchair Varnished was designed by Patricia Urquiola for the Italian brand Moroso in 2008. Tropicalia is developed from the Antibodi range where the frame had to be the starting point and the base for something that would get a creative makeover. The frame is covered and transformed depending on the material and how many colors are used, the frame taking on different personalities. It can be perceived as playful when used with two or three colors, or more elegant and sophisticated when used in monochrome. The use of wood acts like pencil lines creating a surface that is graphic and structural when it comes to its construction and its identity. The chair has a stainless steel frame and a weave that comes in Milk/Opaline, Sage/Gray or Light Black/Medium Black.
