Aalto 160 mm is designed by Alvar Aalto for the brand Iittala. The designer's unique asymmetrical wave forms, known as "aalto" in Finnish, became famous worldwide after winning a design award at the Paris World's Fair in 1937. These shapes, inspired by the thousands of lakes in Aalto's childhood Finland, have become iconic in Scandinavian interior design, where they combine both form and function. The Aalto vases are manufactured through a careful multi-step process at the Iittala glassworks. Each vase is mouth blown from crystal glass, then cut by hand and undergoes an extensive polishing process. This decorative clear glass vase is a versatile and striking addition to any home and makes a perfect gift.
