In 1953 Finn Juhl designed the Reading Chair, a simple yet elegant dining chair. Originally designed by the Danish company Bovirke, it is now in production by House of Finn Juhl since 2015. Reading Chair is made of oak with a walnut back. The chair is also available in a black version. The seat comes in either fabric or leather. Besides this version, you will also find an edition with a veneered seat in walnut at Nordiska Galleriet under the name Reading Chair–Veneered seat .
Finn Juhl designed the Reading Chair both as a dining chair and as a lounge chair. The idea was that it would be just as comfortable no matter which way you sat. The idea may seem a little odd, but the result is a simple, unpretentious chair that is also well-designed and visually appealing. The Reading Chair is perfect for both private and public environments such as homes, hotels, restaurants, and conference facilities.
