Private Sideboard by Gubi is a piece of furniture offering hidden storage, designed by Space Copenhagen. The sideboard has a horizontal shape meant to be placed neatly against a wall in the living room, dining room or bedroom, or back-to-back with another unit. Its four symmetrical soft-close drawers provide ample space in a way that is both practical and functional, while retaining sophistication in their design. The top can be used as an elegant surface for displaying ornaments, objects, and artwork.

Ever since Charlotte Perriand and Hans J. Wegner used Asian design traditions to define mid-century esthetics, Japanese craftsmanship has become a cornerstone of modern and contemporary style. The Private Collection, of which the Private Sideboard is a part, is no exception. Space Copenhagen looked to the simplicity and craftsmanship of antique Japanese furniture for the inspiration of the collection, even applying the visual characteristics of Japanese wood carvings to the collection as a defining design detail.
