Arne Jacobsen's great classic Series 7, or Series 7, comes here in a smaller model as a children's chair in a stylish monochrome finish. The shell is made of colored ash and the legs in powder-coated steel. The colored wood preserves the natural texture of the wood surface, making each chair unique in its expression. The original 3107 Series 7 was designed in 1955 and is by far the most popular chair in Fritz Hansen's collection, and possibly in furniture history. Series 7 is a refinement of Ant and is based on the same innovative manufacturing technology. The shell of the chair is made from compression molded veneer, with the seat and backrest created in one piece from nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton and pressed into shape over steam. This has given the Series 7 its thin and stylish shell, which is made of a whole piece of wood, making the backrest flexible, which contributes to its elevated level of comfort. The legs are made of powder-coated steel.
Series 7 has become Fritz Hansen's best-selling chair throughout history and although over 60 years have passed since its launch, the design still feels modern thanks to Jacobsen's timeless style. Nordiska Galleriet was the first retailer of Series 7 in Sweden, and the chair is still our best-selling piece of furniture today. Series 7's popularity is a testament to its iconic status, bringing together form, function, and modern design history to make it both an iconic piece of furniture and a favorite with us.
