Hans J. Wegner designed the CH88 chair in 1955 for Carl Hansen Søn but until the 100th anniversary of the collaboration with Wegner it had only been a prototype desk. The chair is now produced in several versions and has become a modern favorite. The back is made of solid wood in oak or beech in a variety of finishes and colors. The chair has a stainless steel frame but is also available with a black steel base. The seat is upholstered with flame retardant cold foam.
CH88 is as simple, stylish, and flexible as most of Wegner's work for Carl Hansen. Whether you need chairs around the dining table, relief in the hallway or at your desk, CH88 is a timeless, tasteful choice. The chair also comes with a wooden seat, like CH88T.
