The Newton Floor lamp is a unique and playful floor lamp designed by Andrea Branzi. The first prototype of the lamp was made in 2002, but it would be 17 years before it was finally put into production by Nemo Lighting. The LED lamp has a chrome or black painted metal body. The white shade is made of aluminum. Newton Floor provides a mix of direct and reflected light. The LED light source of the lamp has been carefully selected to reproduce the shades of the apple as realistically as possible. The base of the lamp has a switch that also acts as a dimmer.
The Newton Floor is a homage to gravity. The lamp's design is a playful reference to the apple that fell on the head of physicist Isaac Newton and led him to discover the existence of gravity.
