Medina 2 is a kilim rug designed by Nani Marquina for Nanimarquina. Marquina has drawn inspiration from old carpets that the desert nomads used to protect the people from the land. For the desert nomads, the size of the rug was decisive for the size of the home, and the rug also contributed to comfort. Over time, the carpet has become a decorative ornament and a medium for conveying cultural messages. Medina represents this modern transformation. The material is 100% Afghan wool and Medina is handwoven in northern Pakistan.
