Pilaster is a shelf designed by Swedish John Kandell for Källemo in 1989. The shelf is manufactured in either birch or oak, which can be oiled, soaped or lacquered in a selection of colours. The shelf is 205 cm long and has 12 shelves. Pilaster was founded in John's idea to create a shelf where the books lie down instead of standing, as he was inspired by how books are stacked on the floor. Today, Pilaster is known worldwide and is considered a classic in Swedish design.
