The iconic Barcelona Day Bed from Knoll was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1930. The day bed shares the same elegant and stylish design language as the popular Barcelona Chair, both made with exceptional craftsmanship. The day bed has a soft foam-filled cushion covered in leather made of 72 individual panels, cut and treated by hand from a single cowhide. A selection of different leathers are available to choose from. The cushion is attached with leather straps to a frame in solid, clear lacquered wood. The legs consist of chromed and polished steel tubes.
Mies van der Rohe's less-is-more approach has inspired generations of modern architecture and design. His furniture has been acclaimed worldwide, and Barcelona won the Museum of Modern Art Award in 1977.
