Jonas Bohlin was born in Stockholm in 1953 and is a renowned Swedish interior architect, designer and creator. He graduated as a civil engineer in 1974 and as an interior designer in 1981 at Konstfack and was honoured for his provocative graduation project Concrete.

Concrete was a frame chair made of steel and concrete, and its exhibition at the Stockholm Furniture Fair became the starting point for Bohlin's breakthrough in the industry. In the 1980s, the chair sparked a debate about what art is and should be. In 1983, Bohlin was awarded the "Outstanding Swedish Form" prize for Concrete. Concrete's popularity has made it one of Sweden's great classics and it is now produced by furniture manufacturer Källemo in ash and steel.

Since the start of his career in 1981, Jonas Bohlin has produced a remarkable body of work that includes everything from furniture, lighting, glass and textiles to interior design, art and installations. He has collaborated with brands such as Rörstrand, Asplund, Örsjö, KLONG and Källemo. From 2004 to 2009, Bohlin worked as professor of furniture design at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm and is the founder of Beckman's design department. Jonas Bohlin's aim is to depart from short-lived trends by questioning the obvious, and his motto is to turn everyday life into a celebration.
