The Dot 3170 stool was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1954 and is part of the unique Objects series from Fritz Hansen. The idea for the stool arose when the famous designer designed the classic Ant chair. The stylish and timeless stool works great on its own, as well as as a complement to the related classics in the Sjuan series. The seat is made of genuine leather, which is Fritz Hansen's most exclusive quality. The leather is upholstered with leftover material from the production of the iconic Egg and Swan furniture. The leather is matched with a four-legged base, but unlike the original version, the stool with premium leather has a black lacquered base. The base also helps the stool to be stacked high, making it a perfect fit in the kitchen or as additional chairs in a living room.
The Objects series, which includes Dot 3170, is made from solid materials that reflect Fritz Hansen's proud heritage of quality and refined craftsmanship. The collection consists of timeless and beautiful products designed by leading architects and designers from all over the world, both Danish and international. The range is constantly growing and reflects Fritz Hansen's passion for good and well-planned design, high quality and a long tradition of craftsmanship.
