Here we showcase the CH22 armchair from Carl Hansen & Søn in oak with a black seat made of waxed paper cord. The armchair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1949 in his debut for the Danish brand. Today, it belongs to some of his biggest and most sought-after classics. It is also precisely the CH22 armchair that the CH26 dining chair is based on, after the designer was commissioned to translate the design language from armchair to dining chair. The armchair was out of production for several decades before it once again saw the light of day, along with the related chair, in 2016.
