Biny Curve is a wall lamp designed by Frenchman Jacques Biny and produced by DCW éditions. The lamp is made of steel and aluminum. The shade has a black exterior and a white interior that accentuates the light from the integrated LED type lightbulb. The softly shaped shade also has small holes on the top that allow the light to seep upwards and become an interesting detail of the Biny Curve design.
Biny is a series of lamps originally produced in Jacques Biny's own workshop, Luminalite, which he opened in 1955. There he produced modern fixtures with an emphasis on functionality and a simple, restrained design that exudes elegance. Jacques Biny's quest to improve lighting in people's homes was well received and his lamps became popular in both Europe and America. Against this background, DCW éditions resumed production of the Biny Curve and the other lamps in the series.
