Haussmann, also called The new Chesterfield, was designed in 1962 by Trix and Robert Haussmann as part of the Swiss Design Collection at Walter Knoll. The idea was to recreate the classic Chesterfield as a lighter version. The characteristic diamond pattern upholstery is found on the back rest and seat. The thin legs are a nod to the Bauhaus movement and its modernity. The Haussmann chair is a superb combination of craftsmanship, upholstery, expertise and modernity.
