J77 Chair is a dining chair designed by Folke Pålsson for the Danish brand HAY. The classic chair is made of solid beech, which is available in natural finish or with veneers in Nature, Dusty Gray, Beige Gray, Stone Gray, Black, White, Gray, and Coral. The chair is designed with a wide seat and curved back that creates optimal comfort while the slightly tapered legs create extra stability. Due to the diverse color choices the chair fits in with most interior styles and environments. The J77 Chair is a well-known design classic throughout Scandinavia for its lightweight, comfortable and well-balanced design.
Danish designer Folke Pålsson worked at FDB furniture design in the 1960s. FDB stands for Fællesforeningen for Danmarks Brugsforeninger and is the Danish Consumers Cooperative Society, better known as Coop. Their furniture department played an important role in revolutionizing the industry in Denmark. FDB was founded in 1933 and in 1942 Børge Mogensen began his work as design director.
