Viscontea is a pendant lamp that has a structure similar to a cocoon, designed by Achille and Pier Castiglioni in 1960 and manufactured by Flos. Structure in steel, covered with a resin-like substance. The light spreads widely over the entire room. The material used to shape the lamp saw the Castiglioni brothers use it on US military vehicles to protect them from bad weather and salt spray. The brothers were inspired and covered Viscontea in the same material.
